TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (COMPUTER SCIENCE)

Responsibilities
Conducts classroom, laboratory and field instruction
Makes entries in automated student tracking systems such as TTMS
Monitors and evaluates student progress and performance
Maintains, updates or develops training materials specific to assigned courses when designated as the Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Condition of new and continued employment is contingent upon the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance
Condition of employment is contingent upon a physical being successfully passed. The employee must be able to lift at a minimum of 40 lbs
All faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission of Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria
The degree should be in the teaching discipline. If the degree is not in the teaching discipline, the faculty member must have documented experience, coursework, and/or other training in the teaching discipline
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); Supervising or administering a training program; Development or review of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; Work in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled that required training or instructing others on a regular basis
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled
A combination of specialized experience and education as described above
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level
Basic knowledge of information technology resources to monitor and evaluate policy and procedures to protect clients, networks, data and voice systems and databases from unauthorized activity
Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction and training aids and devices used in training programs
Knowledge of training aids and devices used in training programs
Knowledge of instructional design and materials development for assigned courses
Knowledge of test and measurement principles, techniques and objectives
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
