Business Development Manager, Broadline Distribution

CONFIDENTIAL is a US based manufacturer of custom printed paper cups and food containers headquartered in Irvine, California. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to expand their presence with broadline distributors and their operator networks. This role involves driving new revenue, building relationships with distributors, and collaborating with various teams to ensure program success.

Responsibilities

Drive new revenue through the broadline channel by uncovering unmet needs and positioning us as a strategic partner that improves reliability and program economics
Prospect, activate, and grow relationships with Sysco, US Foods, PFG, Imperial Dade, and regional distributors throughout the West
Introduce product lines to distributor sales teams and support them in securing operator conversions
Map operator demand, identify gaps in coverage, and collaborate with category managers to win stocking positions
Partner with operations, planning, and customer service to protect lead times, maintain program reliability, and accelerate execution
Own a disciplined commercial pipeline with clear qualification, forecasting, and activity accountability
Prepare customer facing proposals that highlight value, clarity, and operational impact

Required

Experience working for a manufacturer in packaging, paper, foodservice disposables, or a related category
Understanding of how broadline distributors evaluate items, build programs, and support operator needs
Ability to handle both operational conversations and strategic commercial discussions
Comfort guiding customers with insight and challenging assumptions in a collaborative way
History of winning new programs and growing existing accounts
Ability to manage a long sales cycle across multiple stakeholders
Based in Southern California with travel across the region as needed
