Bilingual Healthcare Customer Service Representative
University of Colorado Medicine is the region’s largest multi-specialty physician group practice, delivering business operations and administrative services to support patient care. They are seeking a Bilingual Healthcare Customer Service Representative to enhance the patient experience by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a call center environment.
Responsibilities
Receive and bring to resolution up to 60 calls daily in a fun, fast paced, metric-driven environment
Interact directly via phone with patients, affiliate partners, payers, and healthcare providers
Collect payments and/or provide guidance on payment options for outstanding balances
Update accounts with new or corrected information; request itemized statements &/or re-bill claims when appropriate
Explain medical bills and identify deductibles, coinsurance, copays and other patient financial responsibilities
Utilize analytical thinking for account research and reconciliation
Manage all interactions in a positive, caring manner
Perform specialized tasks as assigned by the manager and/or supervisor
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years' healthcare experience
Written/verbal fluency in both English and Spanish
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Professional maturity and ability to exercise sound judgement
Technically proficient
Ability to think outside the box
Ability to successfully multitask and alternate between multiple programs
Preferred
2 years of medical billing experience
Direct patient contact in call center environment
Exposure to insurance billing and medical terminology
