Senior Vice President, Counsel - Banking

Responsibilities
Partnering with the business to advise on risks and controls and provide legal guidance to the various Private Banking business lines that offer loans and deposits to high-net-worth individuals
Providing strategic advice on the development of new products and services and ensuring that all products address applicable regulatory requirements
Negotiating and drafting legal documentation for specific transactions
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor or equivalent with license to practice in at least one state
5+ years of legal experience in the financial services industry including experience in consumer and high-net-worth banking
Strong knowledge of key consumer banking regulations and the regulatory systems applicable to national banks, with a focus on deposit products, loans secured by marketable securities (Reg. U, UCC Articles 8 and 9, Rule 144) and residential mortgages (Regs. Z, X and C), and the Community Reinvestment Act
Risk and control mindset, eagerness to lean in, and ability to prioritize among many important matters
Preferred
International lending, experience with personal trusts, and lending on alternative investments and other high net worth/private banking products and services would be a plus
