Laboratory Research Technician
The University of Vermont is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Research Technician to join the Morelli Lab. This role involves supporting research studies on RNA-regulated processes and providing experimental support across various platforms while maintaining laboratory operations.

Responsibilities
Support research studies on how RNA-regulated processes shape human neural cell function and resilience
Work extensively with human iPSC-derived CNS models and complementary in vitro systems
Provide experimental support across the molecular, cellular, and imaging platforms
Maintain cell cultures
Perform molecular and biochemical assays
Prepare samples for sequencing and imaging workflows
Organize and analyze data
Assist with troubleshooting and protocol optimization
Provide oversight and support to undergraduate researchers in the lab
Ensure efficient day-to-day laboratory operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a scientific field such as biology, neuroscience, or psychology
1-2 years related experience in molecular biology, cell culture, basic data analysis and general laboratory management
Effective analytical ability and organizational skills for accurate laboratory bench work, record keeping, and data interpretation records
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Effective verbal and writing skills
Preferred
Experience with ELISA, Western blotting, PCR and qPCR, RNA or protein preparation, immunostaining, and fluorescence imaging
Experience with mammalian cell culture, especially human iPSC maintenance or differentiation
Experience with software such as Excel, Prism, ImageJ or Fiji, or similar tools for quantitative analysis
Some experience with bioinformatics, sequencing data, or coding (R or Python)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation
Prior experience helping to train or guide undergraduate students
