Responsibilities
Listen to our clients’ needs and independently provide value to them by evaluating options based upon the client’s needs and desires, first cost, and life cycle cost
Communicate your design recommendations to our clients, project team, construction contractors, and vendors in presentations, meetings, via email and phone as necessary
Work alone on projects or work on a project team with other technical staff to design and detail new systems that are needed, assuring that the work is accurate and coordinated and that the quality assurance measures have been followed
Provide timely services that meet the needs of the clients and the overall project schedule requirements
Participate in on site observations, information gathering, and interaction with clients and contractors both during the design and construction phases of the projects to represent Salas O’Brien in the field
Maintain appropriate contact with our existing clients so that they think of our firm when services are needed
Work as part of a multi disciplined design team for new and existing clients by meeting with them to discuss the projects, conducting presentations, and evaluate design alternatives
Work as part of a team with other engineers and designers to develop project deliverables
Perform Civil design calculations following office standards
Stay abreast of new design and analysis technologies and building materials through continuing education activities
Qualification
Required
Applicants should have a minimum of a BS in Civil Engineering and must have passed or plan to take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
3-7 years of experience is preferred, but entry level and more experienced degreed engineers will be considered based on work experience and attitude
Applicants must have a working knowledge of Civil analysis and design software (specifically Civil 3D preferred)
Preferred
A Professional Engineering license is preferred but not required
