They are seeking a Transportation Engineer 3-Transit to develop large scale transportation/transit designs, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing guidance to junior staff.
Responsibilities
Under general supervision, develops large scale projects primarily focused on transportation/transit designs of basic to moderate complexity to meet client project requirements
Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations
Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs
Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications
Updates design requirements as necessary
Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff
Performs other duties as required
Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff
Reviews the work of more junior staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline
3 years of related experience
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
Preferred
Strong background in Transit and Roadway Design preferably with clients like WeGO, Nashville DOT, TDOT and/or Tennessee Municipalities
Experience drafting and producing transit and roadway design projects from initiation through final design
Intermediate knowledge in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Bentley Open Road Designer
Knowledge of engineering principles of design
Minimum of one year of progressive experience in conducting work in the following areas: Analyzing data and making recommendations on potential solutions to our client's challenges, Performing technical calculations, Writing reports and technical memoranda, Drafting presentation content, Creating basic to moderately complex designs, Performing site reviews and field sampling, Self-checking of all work products
