This role involves representing clients in tax-related matters, including audits and compliance, while providing practical tax solutions and participating in multi-disciplinary workstreams.

Responsibilities

Works with other team members calculating annual fixed asset expenses, includes reconciling reports with trial balances, discussions with client regarding purchases, preparing annual reports for client’s review

Assists in calculating monthly use tax accruals for clients

Prepares responses and documents for tax audits

Research federal and state tax issues

Discusses tax issues/resolutions/planning opportunities with other team members

Reviews documents relating to potential client acquisitions, expansions, etc

Reviews and prepares tax credit documentation

Participates in due diligence on client acquisitions

Reviews and edits contracts and agreements, focusing specifically on tax issues

Prepares filing packages for state tax incentive refunds

Qualification

Required

J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar admission in a relevant jurisdiction

2–5 years of corporate tax experience in a law firm or public accounting tax department
