Responsibilities
Ensure consistency of visual brand language across divisional and inter-divisional product designs
Identify new market opportunities—both core and adjacent—aligned with brand values and strategic goals
Lead research on design trends and product limitations; use insights to define user experience, aesthetics, safety, functionality, and production feasibility
Drive development of product vision and portfolio brand language, influencing design strategy and execution
Provide expert input on form development, human factors, ergonomics, material selection, finishes, color, and graphical user interfaces for Stryker products
Lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary team meetings, presenting design concepts and portfolio to stakeholders and management
Oversee testing and validation of designs through focus groups, surveys, and user feedback sessions; manage external design firms as needed
Mentor Industrial Designers, lead design reviews, and actively contribute to building design excellence within the team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in science (Industrial Design, Product Design, or related discipline) with relevant experience in design and product development
8+ years of professional experience, including leading development teams and projects, supported by a portfolio showcasing commercialized products
Proven experience working in a regulated industry
Expertise in design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino)
Preferred
Experience with Creo or similar advanced CAD tools
Background in the medical device industry
