Pittsburgh Glass Works is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst responsible for supervising and coordinating all accounting functions related to production reporting, budgeting, cost estimates, inventory control, and monthly closings. The successful candidate will provide accurate and timely information to management while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Incumbent is responsible for product costing and inventory valuation, as well as supervision of ongoing production reporting and shipping transactions

Position is responsible for the monthly monitoring and management of the closing process and is required to lead the local team to complete the closing process, within the required corporate guidelines and utmost accuracy. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the integrity of the plant P&L and Balance Sheet through diligent variance analysis, account reconciliation review and approvals and analysis and ongoing transaction monitoring

Heavily involved with plant supply chain and inventory management personnel to ensure that local inventory management processes adhere to the PGW Controller’s Manual. Additionally, the Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for conducting all elements of the physical inventory process, both annual and cycle counting

The incumbent is a critical part of the annual budget process, as well as weekly and monthly forecasting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Fixed and variable absorption, updates recognition and quantification of productivity improvements, and projected spending on a detailed account basis

Similarly, the incumbent is instrumental in the creation of the weekly projection and monthly results dashboard reporting. Working with functional leaders as necessary to explain and comment on major variances

This role will provide ongoing support to the operations team in quantifying the financial impact of operations decisions, including cost reduction and investment analysis

The position will complete ad hoc analyses on an ongoing basis, at the request of the Plant Manager, Plant Controller, and Business Unit Finance Group
