Senior Consulting Engineer

Responsibilities
Work on a wide range of structural engineering projects involving steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures
Design of new structures; assess, investigate, evaluate, and analyze existing structures; design seismic retrofits, modifications, and repairs of existing buildings
Execute and manage development of structural construction documents and structural calculation packages
Plan and conduct site investigations to document existing conditions
Execute the construction administration phase of projects, including submittal review, response to requests for information, attend site meetings, prepare field reports, etc
Work with the principal-in-charge, senior project manager, and junior staff to plan and execute projects
Serve as a project manager on select projects including management of budgets, schedules, and staffing
Preparation of technical reports
Responsible for direct client and contractor contact within context of assigned work
Assist with training, mentoring, and managing of junior staff
Assist in proposal development and business development efforts
Pursue professional activities to gain professional recognition
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 9 years of experience in structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, masonry, and wood-frame structures
MS in Civil or Structural Engineering
Professional Engineering License in California
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to actively work in a team environment working successfully towards shared goals
Proficient in writing and editing of project specifications, technical reports, field reports, project correspondence, and proposals
Strong written and oral communication skills required
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage project budgets
Proficient in the use of computer analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP, Perform3D, RISA, RAM, SAFE, etc.)
Familiarity and experience in implementing various codes and guidelines including the California Building Code, ASCE 7, ASCE 41, etc
Ability to travel to out-of-state projects on occasion and ability to travel to remote job sites not accessible by public transportation
Valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
