Responsibilities
Helping develop novel experimental campaigns to explore the interactions between turbulent flow and sediment transport
Helping develop novel experimental campaigns to explore the swimming capabilities, upstream movement, and schooling behavior of relatively small fish as they navigate complex turbulent flow fields
Using novel analytical techniques for data processing, using numerical models of varying complexity to expand parameter space, and using and/or developing agent-based models for the movement and behavior of fish in rivers
Presenting material at conferences, writing research papers for publication, and/or assisting in preparing grants for funding agencies
Qualification
Required
PhD in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field
Experience with physical models and experimental techniques related to geophysical flows
Strong analytical skills and experience with data processing
Familiarity with numerical models and agent-based modeling
Ability to present research findings at conferences
Experience writing research papers for publication
Experience in preparing grants for funding agencies
