Responsibilities

Designing and implementing diagnostic software for our next generation of cloud servers and systems crucial for testing various server subsystems and swiftly identifying potential issues

Evaluating system architectures and proposing diagnostic implementation strategies, ensuring robust testing, scalability, and a user-friendly environment

Participating in platform definition, analysis, and bring-up, ensuring seamless integration of diagnostics into the development lifecycle

Collaborating with in-house and external engineering teams, including system architects, firmware developers, and validation engineers, to define and refine diagnostic features

Integrating new diagnostic functionalities, rectifying bugs, debugging issues, and delivering solutions to mitigate problems

Working closely with third-party component suppliers, partners, and internal teams including hardware/software development, quality assurance, cloud orchestration, and security compliance to enhance system reliability

Providing guidance to internal Oracle teams on system diagnostics, failure analysis, and monitoring strategies to support large-scale cloud deployments

Assisting Oracle Cloud and Support teams in root-cause analysis of hardware/software failures, leveraging lab replication, remote debugging, and in-depth telemetry analysis

Partnering with Oracle manufacturing teams to ensure that hardware is secure and rigorously validated, meeting deployment standards for cloud customers

Required

3 to 5+ years of experience in embedded diagnostics engineering

Experience in developing diagnostic tools for cloud, AI, and database platforms

Prior experience in creating hardware-centric tests and diagnostic tools

Ability to design and implement diagnostic software for cloud servers and systems

Experience evaluating system architectures and proposing diagnostic implementation strategies

Ability to participate in platform definition, analysis, and bring-up

Experience collaborating with engineering teams including system architects, firmware developers, and validation engineers

Ability to integrate new diagnostic functionalities and rectify bugs

Experience working with third-party component suppliers and internal teams

Ability to provide guidance on system diagnostics and failure analysis

Experience assisting in root-cause analysis of hardware/software failures

Ability to partner with manufacturing teams to ensure hardware security and validation

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
