Lead CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector
Sidus Space is a space mission enabler providing flexible, cost-effective solutions, including satellite manufacturing and technology integration. The Lead CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector is responsible for overseeing programming, setup and operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS software, as well as manual inspection of complex tight tolerance Aerospace manufactured parts.

Responsibilities
Assign work to Inspectors according to production priorities and be a first responder and point of contact for any issues that block or stop production
Solve issues or get the right resource to provide solutions to identified issues
Work closely with Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning and Quality to address constraints and determine priorities to ensure timely and efficient execution of production requirements
Work closely with Estimator to provide programming/inspection quotes
Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications and Customer requirements utilizing the best inspection method (CMM and/or manual inspection methods)
Review work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements
Review drawings or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences
Assist Manufacturing to determine Inspection frequency to ensure first-time quality
Review data and Customer/Industry workmanship standards to determine requirements for inspection and compliance
Correlate and record inspection data to document in the required format
Properly identify items with detailed acceptance-rejection status
Work closely with CNC machinists to complete inspections and support the team to meet customer deadlines
Accurately fill out AS9102 forms, including First Article (FAIR) reports/customer required data packages
Compare physical characteristics of materials or products to specifications or standards
Ensure inspection and measurement equipment repair or maintenance needs are addressed; responsible for tracking and calibration of inspection and measurement devices
Treat all coworkers with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained

Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED/equivalent
5+ years of relevant job experience
Proven job experience in the Operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines with PC-DIMIS software
Proven job experience in manual inspection using calibers, mics, MicroView, thread gages, height gages, etc
Strong knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Knowledge and experience with AS9100D Quality Management System; hands-on experience with AS9102
Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation, maintaining positive and professional relationships
Flexibility to work occasional overtime to support projects/programs
Ability to read, interpret and apply various technical data such as prints, models, specifications and utilize specialized inspection and hand tools
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Solution-oriented while committed to consistency and process
Ability to work under minimal direction while keeping within the limitations of designated authorities, exercising regular use of good judgment
Ability to utilize computer systems to generate spreadsheets and presentations as well as access databases and other quality documents
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to present information, concepts, and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels, technical or non-technical individuals both internal and external to the company
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
