Process Engineer
voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation is a leading supplier of custom roll formed metal components across various industries. They are seeking a hands-on manufacturing engineer to support operations in their roll forming production facility, focusing on process optimization and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
Provide hands-on process engineering support on the production floor a minimum 50% of time
Estimate costs, develop, improve and implement manufacturing processes required in the manufacture of all products
Improve the efficiencies of individual operations and the facility as a whole
Assist tryout and development of associated new tooling projects
Develop sustainable, repeatable processes that produce at maximum rates with minimum scrap
Use engineering principles to provide production operations support with hands on troubleshooting and development
Lead process optimization for facility
Act as a technical resource for machine capabilities and product limitations on new parts
Improve process control and product quality
Maximize operational effectiveness, i.e. bottleneck analysis, set-up time reduction
Review tooling, machine, and product drawings with use of 3D CAD software
Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues for production and product launches
Assist Quality Assurance in qualifying gauges and other measuring devices to be used in or on production processes
Customer contact for process related concerns as needed (some travel required)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related technical field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with metal-forming processes such as roll forming, progressive stamping, tooling, welding, tube bending, CNC machining, and/or laser cutting
Computer skills – MS Office with strong Excel spreadsheet knowledge, CAD and ability to learn new software, including internal manufacturing software
Lean manufacturing experience
Lives in commutable distance to Jeffersonville, IN and willing to work onsite each day
Willing to travel as needed – day trips or occasional overnight
US Person as defined by ITAR/EAR
Preferred
Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
Experience with roll forming or progressive stamping, tryout or R&D
Experience with lean manufacturing, manual mills & lathes, PLC, Electrical controls programming, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, quality certification systems
Experience with induction heat treat, robotics, plasma cutting, jigs, fixtures, gas metal welding, CNC punching, off set bending, powder coating, automated storage retrieval system & packaging
