Responsibilities
Managing AbbVie’s U.S. and international patent litigation matters, trade secret matters, and other IP-related disputes, driving strategy with outside counsel and partnering with key internal clients
Participating in key litigation proceedings, including depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials
Providing expert counsel on all IP litigation and related issues
Advising senior management on a broad range of key global IP litigation issues
Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements
Qualification
Required
Law degree from an ABA accredited law school and in good standing with the state bar of the jurisdiction in which your office will be located (or ability to gain licensure in the state in which your office will be located)
5+ years of major law firm and/or in-house patent or intellectual property litigation experience
Excellent communication, analytical, organization, and negotiation skills, including the ability to convey and discuss intellectual property issues in understandable terms
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong interest and aptitude in science
This is a hybrid work opportunity requiring at minimum three (3) days onsite in our North Chicago, IL offices
