GIS Technician / Community Planner
City of Zephyrhills is seeking a GIS Technician / Community Planner to manage and operate the City’s geographic information system. The role involves planning, preparing reports, maintaining data layers, and responding to GIS inquiries.

Responsibilities
Plans, directs and participates in the acquisition, installation, administration and operation of the City’s geographic information system (GIS) and permit system
Prepares GIS report for various projects and studies related to engineering, assessment of real property and/or municipal planning
Maintains water and sanitary sewer data layers and associated metadata from daily utility operational activities, capital improvement projects or field collection projects
Digitizes new subdivision maps and deed verification records
Responds to general GIS mapping inquiries from the general public, taxpayers, real estate professionals and developers
Completes other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in GIS, geography, cartography, urban planning, civil engineering or related technical field
Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
Possession of a current valid Florida driver license is also required before employment
