Responsibilities

Lead and shape the future of the Ground-based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) program
Contribute directly to the nation's space domain awareness, guiding the GEODSS program in its critical mission of monitoring and tracking objects far beyond our planet
Ensure the safety, security, and sustained operational effectiveness of both national and allied space assets
Tackle complex challenges and make a tangible impact on the security of our nation

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Space Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience in program management, acquisition, or related discipline, preferably within the DoD or aerospace sector
Strong understanding of space surveillance systems, optical technologies, or similar technical domains
Proven leadership experience in managing large, complex programs or projects
Ability to obtain DAWIA Practitioner Certification within four years of job start
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws related to acquisition/logistics contracts and program management
Knowledge of government and private industry policies and practices related to business management, industrial management, financial systems, technical concepts, and production practices
Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense and United States Space Force
Knowledge of methods of supervision to hold others accountable for measurable high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with technical accuracy
Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups
Ability to plan, organize, analyze problems, translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, evaluate options, conduct research, summarize results, and manage critical aspects of service contract requirements

Preferred

Master's degree in engineering, Physics, Space Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
DAWIA Practitioner Certification in Program Management or equivalent
Experience in systems engineering principles and practices, particularly within the space domain
Familiarity with GEODSS or other space surveillance systems (e.g., SBSS, Space Fence)
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
