The role involves designing and creating pocket knives and tools, managing projects for production, and collaborating with sales and marketing to visualize new concepts and ideas.

Responsibilities
Design and create pocket knives and tools for everyday carry, sporting, and hunting
Create and manage projects for production both in the US Factory and overseas
Work with sales and marketing to visualize new concepts and ideas
Communicate those ideas to the R&D and Production teams and guide the product through the manufacturing process
Evaluate design ideas based on factors such as appealing appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications
Prepare sketches of ideas, detailed drawings, illustrations, artwork, or computer-aided design
Modify and refine designs using computer programs to conform to customer specifications, production, limitations, or changes in design trends
Direct and coordinate spec sheets from sketches, technical drawings, and samples
Qualification
Required
2-5 yrs industrial designing experience and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes
Must be detail-oriented, creative and have innovative thinking skills
Must be able to effectively communicate rough concepts through hand sketches
Capable of coordinating multiple projects from early conceptual stages, costing /budgeting, to refined design concepts ready for prototyping and manufacturing
Proficient in Solidworks; experience with Mastercam is a plus
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator)
Preferred
Creating /Improving Processes: 3 years
CNC programming: 1 year
SolidWorks: 4 years
