This position is a one-year fellowship designed for internists to achieve proficiency in POCUS and to become leaders in this emerging niche of Internal Medicine, involving clinical work and ultrasound training.

Responsibilities

Supervision of admitting residents

Direct care of hospital medicine patients on non-house staff services performing both cross coverage and admitting duties

Work 12-hour shifts in a team of 3 in house attendings per night

Participate in weekly ultrasound shifts with graded supervision by faculty divided between inpatient, outpatient, ED, and ICU

Participate in Weekly Quality Assurance, Imaging review, and Journal club

Flexible clinical schedule

Research and project mentorship

Participation in regional and national ultrasound conferences

Development of administrative skills

Experience to credential colleagues in POCUS

Experience to conduct a quality assurance program

Required

Internist with proficiency in POCUS

Ability to work clinically part-time in the Division of Hospital Medicine as a night hospitalist

Experience in supervising admitting residents

Direct care of hospital medicine patients on non-house staff services
