Responsibilities

Key contributor monthly accounting close for multiple entities, including preparation and posting of journal entries
Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and anomalies
Assist with preparation and dissemination of monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial reports
Process reports incoming from Managing General Agents and prepare outgoing reports to Brokers and Reinsurers
Manage third-party communication
Assist with external and regulatory audit requests, premium tax return preparation, and other regulatory requirements
Various projects as needed

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in AccountingPrior insurance experienceStatutory accounting principlesAdvanced ExcelAnalytical skillsEffective communicatorProblem solving skillsCritical thinking skillsTime management skillsOrganization skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
Prior insurance experience is a non-negotiable
Working knowledge of statutory accounting principles
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
Possess strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to multi-task
Results oriented, flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated team player
Effective verbal and written communicator

Preferred

Prior experience interpreting and accounting for complex reinsurance, Managing General Agent and Third Party Administrator agreements
