Vice President, Financial Communications

Confidential is seeking an ambitious and strategic Vice President of Communications with experience in financial communications or public relations to join their NYC team. This leadership role involves providing senior counsel and driving key communications initiatives while managing and mentoring junior talent.

Responsibilities

Act as a senior advisor to the executive team, developing and leading strategic communications plans, and providing counsel on complex financial matters
Develop high-level content (e.g., thought leadership, financial announcements, crisis communications) and oversee research to strategically support company activity and market positioning
Lead new communication efforts and complex projects from conception through execution
Manage, mentor, and develop junior talent, taking a proactive role in team leadership
Drive new business development initiatives and expand the firm’s capabilities and client base

Experience in financial communications or public relations (in-house or agency)

Proven, in-depth knowledge and experience in Hedge Funds
Proven, in-depth knowledge and experience in Private Equity
Proven, in-depth knowledge and experience in Cryptocurrency
Proven, in-depth knowledge and experience in Financial Technology
Strong critical thinking, research, and writing skills
Proven ability to distill complex financial information into clear, compelling narratives
Substantial experience working with financial, business, and trade media
Experience working with high-level stakeholders (investors, regulators, analysts)
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks
Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous professional improvement
Strong desire to help build a rapidly growing business through business development and talent nurturing
Ability to manage, mentor, and develop junior talent
