STEPS Electronic Technician Associate
The University of Kentucky is seeking an ITS Electronic Technician Assistant to support their Infrastructure Operations team. This entry-level position involves learning and developing skills to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and cabling to ensure the operation of telecommunications services.
Education
Responsibilities
Learn and develop skills necessary to assist other Infrastructure Operations staff in the performance of their duties
Installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and fiber/copper cabling to support the 24/7 operation of telecommunications services
Qualification
Required
High School/ GED
Driver's License
Must be able to work from ladders or lifts up to 15 feet or higher
Lift and carry 30 pounds
Work in tight places for extended periods of time
Able to distinguish colors
Traverse campus while carrying or moving equipment in a reasonable amount of time
Sit or stand for long periods of time
Basic Math and Science
Distinguish between different colors
Manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks
Climb ladders
Basic reading and writing
Basic knowledge of ethernet and/or fiber troubleshooting procedures
Critical thinking, problem/situation analysis, and accurate documentation skills
