Senior Director of Marketing and Communications
Family Reach is a national nonprofit dedicated to removing financial barriers for cancer patients. The Senior Director of Marketing and Communications will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy, overseeing communications, brand management, and media relations to enhance awareness and engagement with the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
Lead the creation and execution of Family Reach’s marketing and communications strategy to elevate brand awareness, stakeholder engagement, and mission alignment
Partner with the CEO and SLT to ensure communication priorities support organizational goals, programs, and fundraising efforts
Translate strategic objectives into actionable marketing and communications plans with measurable outcomes
Oversee departmental planning, including development of annual objectives, strategies, and performance indicators
Manage and serve as the key liaison between Family Reach’s PR and marketing agencies, ensuring seamless coordination, clear communication, and timely delivery of projects
Oversee workflows, creative briefs, and campaign timelines to maintain consistency across all communication channels
Ensure all external messaging aligns with Family Reach’s brand voice, visual identity, and mission-driven storytelling
Serve as the marketing and communications liaison across departments to ensure consistent internal communications, transparency, and brand alignment
Collaborate closely with Development, Programs, and leadership team to craft materials, messaging, and campaigns that advance fundraising, partnerships, and mission impact
Develop and execute internal communication strategies and materials to foster engagement and culture across the organization
Partner with the ELT to ensure that communication supports organizational priorities and connects the broader team to Family Reach’s impact
Oversee brand positioning and messaging to ensure a strong, consistent, and mission-aligned voice across all platforms
Manage the development of high-quality marketing materials, reports, and digital content that articulate Family Reach’s impact
Guide media relations efforts, including proactive outreach, press releases, and thought leadership opportunities
Monitor and assess marketing and communications performance through analytics and feedback, adjusting strategies accordingly
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10 years' experience in marketing and communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Proven success developing and executing integrated communications strategies for mission-driven organizations
Experience managing multiple external agencies or consultants
Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-departmental projects and manage multiple priorities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex information into compelling narratives
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with experience working across senior teams and departments
High attention to detail, strong project management skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Passion for Family Reach's mission and commitment to equity, collaboration, and innovation
Preferred
Experience with internal communications and organizational culture initiatives a plus
