Responsibilities

Own the full-cycle recruiting process end-to-end: sourcing, screening, interviewing, scheduling, and preboarding for all roles across the organization
Implement creative, cutting-edge sourcing strategies
Develop and continuously refine our pitch, demonstrating a deep and evolving understanding of our wealth engineering philosophy and what makes our firm unique
Act as the guardian of our talent standards, consistently raising the bar, increasing talent density, and minimizing mis-hires through rigorous assessment and disciplined adherence to our hiring methodology
Build a world-class employer brand that positions Santa Barbara Management as a magnet for exceptional talent
Serve as an ambassador of SBM's culture and values throughout every candidate interaction
Build a strong referral engine by activating our network and creating a culture where top performers organically attract other top performers
Proactively build pipelines of A+ candidates across all functions, ensuring we're never starting from zero when a critical role opens
Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to hiring managers, providing counsel on talent strategy, market dynamics, and candidate assessment
Drive strong discipline across the organization to adhere to our hiring process, including ensuring detailed scorecards exist for every role
Partner with our People Operations Lead to train hiring managers on our hiring methodology, interview best practices, and how to effectively evaluate candidates
Maintain proactive, transparent communication with hiring managers: keep them informed of pipeline progress, flag roadblocks early, and ensure alignment throughout every search
Work cross-functionally with hiring leaders to understand evolving team needs, anticipate future hiring requirements, and inform competitive compensation and benefits strategies
Explore, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge talent tools (e.g., ATS, scheduling solutions, AI) that increase our efficiency and reach while automating administrative tasks
Create efficient, effective talent processes that scale with our growth while maintaining our commitment to quality
Continuously refine our hiring methodology and design structured interview guides, evaluation frameworks, and decision-making tools that enable consistent, objective candidate assessment

Required

3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a proven track record of high-quality hires
Experience hiring across multiple functions (finance, tax, client service, etc.) and levels, from C-suite executives to early-career professionals
Strong judgment in candidate assessment with the ability to distinguish A players from the rest
Demonstrated success in fast-growing or entrepreneurial environments where you've built recruiting processes from scratch or scaled a function
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously without sacrificing quality
Exceptional EQ and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling, bespoke candidate pitches

Preferred

Background in finance, fintech, wealth management, family offices, professional services, or high-net-worth client services
