Dairy Sales Trader

Responsibilities
Support the execution of the Dairy business trading plan
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and profitability targets
Identify and pursue new business opportunities
Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to refine sales approaches
Collaborate with the trading team to align product offerings with market demand
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as their primary point of contact
Provide exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and delivering tailored dairy solutions, including regular business reviews
Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights into dairy trends, sustainability initiatives, and market developments
Manage the credit and counterparty exposures within prescribed limits
Work closely with supply chain, customer service, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery and product quality
Develop a knowledge of dairy ingredients and applications to enhance your strategic partnership with customers
Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management
Use data-driven insights to identify gaps and opportunities in the market
Manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma is required
Four (4) Years of experience in sales is required; dairy or food ingredients industry is strongly preferred
Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills are required
Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into actionable strategies is required
Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite; Python is a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal are required
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams is required
Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment is required
Strong customer service orientation with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building long-term relationships is required
Experience in proactively seeking out new sales opportunities through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and leveraging market research to identify potential customers is required
An ability to build a pipeline of qualified leads by strategically targeting and engaging with new customers, ensuring a steady flow of new business opportunities is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and effectively are required
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and foster trusting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, are required
Preferred
A bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Economics, Finance, Food Science, Marketing, Ag Business, or related field is strongly preferred
Experience in credit management is desirable
Highly skilled deal negotiation is preferred
Previous working exposure to domestic and/or international trade is preferred
Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus
