Responsibilities

Developing systems to characterize the performance of semiconductor lasers, detectors, and passive optical components using DC and RF test instruments and algorithms
Working with robotic handling equipment and machine vision
Transferring automated test systems into a manufacturing environment, including system documentation and work instructions
Performing failure mode analysis to support continuous improvement of the quality of test data
Developing software using Microsoft .NET, Visual Studio, and C++ to automate test systems in a manufacturing environment
Performing data analysis to evaluate test system and product performance
Working with manufacturing and product development engineers for yield improvements and test-time reduction
Characterizing test systems using error-of-measurement, process capability, and correlation studies

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's with 6+ years, or Ph.D. with 3+ years
Ability to understand the fundamentals of optoelectronic devices, test instruments, and algorithms
Strong problem-solving skills drawing on an understanding of statistical analysis and electrical, mechanical, optical, and software interactions
Automation experience including motion control, machine vision, software development, and database access
Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Hands-on experience working in a high-tech manufacturing and development environment
Self-management and organizational skills with capability to generate analysis results, create presentations, and sign-off reports
Strong team player with ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility for occasional travel to other Broadcom sites worldwide
This job requires working on-site at the Broadcom office, 5-days a week. This is not a remote-work position
