Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases across versions 2012, 2019, and 2022
Build complex stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
Perform advanced performance tuning including indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and query optimization
Conduct performance assessments and benchmarking to ensure scalability and stability
Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to ensure high availability and minimal downtime
Develop, enhance, and optimize SSIS packages for ETL, data integration, and migration
Create and maintain SSRS reports and dashboards for business and operational teams
Ensure accuracy, reliability, and automation within ETL and reporting pipelines
Manage deployments, version control, scheduling, and automation of SSIS/SSRS assets
Apply best practices in data validation, profiling, cleansing, and integrity enforcement
Partner with security teams to ensure compliance with data governance standards
Implement security controls including encryption, access management, and auditing
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to define requirements and acceptance criteria
Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews
Deliver high-quality incremental work aligned with Agile best practices
Provide technical input and support throughout sprint cycles
Use Jira Software for sprint tracking, issue management, and documentation
Leverage Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for repositories, pipelines, CI/CD, and work item tracking
Maintain traceability across requirements, development tasks, and deliverables
Contribute to continuous improvement of database and ETL build/release pipelines
Partner with application development, infrastructure, and BI teams to ensure seamless integration
Provide production support, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis
Contribute to architectural discussions and long-term data platform modernization
Qualification
Required
5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server 2012, 2019, and 2022
Strong expertise in SSIS and SSRS development, deployment, and optimization
Advanced SQL performance tuning and query optimization skills
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Proficiency with Jira Software
Experience using Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) for CI/CD and work tracking
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
Experience with ETL modernization or data warehousing
Familiarity with cloud data platforms or DevOps automation tools
Knowledge of enterprise security standards, compliance, and data governance
