Responsibilities
Is in charge of all production staff and the coordination of staff during the newscast
Trains the production crew throughout the week, so they are prepared for live productions
Coordinates who on the production crew works each position on a weekly basis
Works with the production crew to make sure each of them is aware of what is happening within the newscast and their individual responsibilities
Coordinates with the Executive Producer on what the show should look like for that week and figure out ways to make that vision happen
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of what a newscast should look like
Knowledge of all studio positions
Ability to lead a team
Ability to work through stressful situations
Knows what is going on in the show for that week
Ability to adapt on a moment's notice (either fix or work with mistakes during the show)
Ability to edit video and have existing knowledge of the software used
Knows journalistic ethics
Knowledgeable enough to guide and teach new members
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate)
