Scientist Intern, Performance Augmentation Systems (Summer 2026)

Responsibilities

Assist in search for and review peer-reviewed scientific literature on cognitive science and human factors research
Studying and contributing to systems design
Conducting usability testing and human-in the-loop evaluations
Supporting data collection and analysis activities
Participating in user interviews
Assisting with technical documentation
Apply written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with team members using email, phone, and virtual meeting technology
Participate in a timely, productive, and collegial manner on a multidisciplinary project team

Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
Demonstrated expertise in human factors and system usability evaluation
Completed B.A./B.S. degree in an applied mathematics discipline such as statistics, computer science, or mathematics
Currently enrolled and completed at least one year of coursework in an accredited graduate program work toward a Master or Doctoral degree in an applied mathematics discipline, such as mathematical psychology, statistics, computer science, or physics

Preferred

Background in human factors, cognitive science, or related behavioral science disciplines, along with strong analytical and written communication skills
