Responsibilities
Demonstrates monthly visible and measurable leadership across the organization in promoting and achieving a Culture of Safety, where zero personal injuries and equipment damage are understood to be both preventable and attainable
Demonstrates ongoing visible and measurable leadership in ISO 9001 Quality Management System development, continuous improvement, maintenance, and compliance within the Global Logistics functional area
Serves as subject matter expert for all transportation-related activities
Estimates all overseas and domestic freight rates
Prepares and submits documentation required for U.S. Customs and Border Protection clearance, including HTS classification determinations
Maintains daily confidentiality of business strategy and tactical execution
Tracks and traces all international and domestic shipments
Coordinates closely with international and domestic manufacturing partners and the internal purchasing function
Confirms that all international containers used for government or special program shipments are properly classified as duty-free when applicable
Arranges U.S. flag shipments when required
Coordinates all drayage deliveries from port to final destination
Manages renewal of company vehicle registrations
Calculates and submits applicable highway road tax filings
Evaluates, qualifies, and onboards new logistics and transportation vendors
Creates and manages inbound and outbound shipping documentation
Provides backup support for planning, dispatch, and logistics coordination functions
Acts as ISO and safety lead for the logistics department
Maintains custody and control of company vehicle keys
Updates contingency plans quarterly to reflect changes in global supply chain risks and opportunities
Maps logistics dependencies and leads cross-functional collaboration to integrate logistics into both long-term strategic planning and near-term tactical execution
Ensures carrier compliance with company policies and procedures related to product transit and delivery
Manages commercial truck lease agreements
Qualification
Required
Global logistics experience
Freight management experience
Experience with U.S.-flagged vessel shipments
Domestic logistics experience
Prior leadership experience
