Responsibilities

Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a multidisciplinary team working on high-temperature processing projects
Plan, prioritize, and manage resources to ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met
Collaborate with stakeholders to align project goals with organizational objectives
Facilitate team development through training, performance evaluations, and professional growth opportunities
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations
Participate in project work in high-temperature processing, including material testing, equipment operation, and process optimization
Develop and implement innovative solutions for high-temperature applications, such as furnaces, thermal treatments, or advanced materials
Analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and provide recommendations to improve system performance
Collaborate with R&D teams to drive advancements in high-temperature processing technologies
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge
Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs. International travel could be required as well

Required

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
At least 8 years of experience in high-temperature processing or related technical work
Minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in a technical setting
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams
Expertise in high-temperature processes, such as glass melting/forming, ceramic firing, optical fiber, flame hydrolysis, etc
Proficiency in using high-temperature equipment and analyzing process data
Solid understanding of project management principles, including resource allocation and scheduling
Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Strong technical fundamentals with process research/engineering and materials
Supplier management
Statistics, data analysis, design of experiments
