The role involves managing monthly compliance activities, preparing returns, reconciling data, and improving sales tax processes while working on-site in downtown Philadelphia.

Responsibilities
Validate data and prepare sales & use tax returns using Vertex O Series or Avalara
Gather information, e-file, and process payments; reconcile cash and confirm bank activity
Troubleshoot online filing/payment issues
Assist with onboarding new legal entities into the tax engine and tax preparation software
Document and improve sales tax processes
Address and resolve cross-departmental inquiries
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 1 year of professional/corporate experience within a tax, finance, or accounting analyst role
Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Familiarity with ERP systems and tax engines (Vertex, Avalara)
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills for reconciliation and reporting
Experience as an Analyst in public accounting or sales/use tax
Demonstrated experience with navigating enterprise systems, validate data, and troubleshoot basic filing/payment errors
Must be authorized to work for Sonepar in the United States without employment sponsorship now or in the future
Must be willing and able to work on site our downtown Philadelphia office Tuesday - Thursday
Preferred
Familiarity with CCH AnswerConnect (Wolters Kluwer), Vertex Returns suite, and transactional tax processes
