We are seeking a Component Engineer to drive the component selection process and act as a consultative expert in this domain.

Responsibilities
Supporting project teams as the resident component expert, suggesting alternate components and resolving component related issues
Reviewing BOMs to identify errors and potential sourcing issues as well as ensuring that the list of components is accurate, up-to-date, and procurable
Engaging with suppliers on new component development and qualification
Reviewing and evaluating component PCNs (Part Change Notifications) and failure analysis reports, assessing issues and risk to the project
Coordinating and tracking component root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective action
Documenting and releasing component specifications
Commodity research, including identifying supply chain opportunities and tracking supplier roadmaps
Managing component lifecycles
Qualification
Required
BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field required
A minimum of 5 years of Industry Experience is required, with ~ 3 years of experience in Component Engineering or similar role
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and design processes
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Preferred
Good understanding/Working knowledge of Engineering documentation (i.e. schematics, component data sheets, Gerber files, etc) and standard document control practices (Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Orders, deviations, etc.)
