Responsibilities
Design and implement safety policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA), while interpreting complex technical data and safety KPIs to drive continuous improvement
Conduct regular HSE field audits and safety evaluations to identify hazards and recommend engineering controls or process changes
Lead Industrial Hygiene (IH) monitoring campaigns, analyzing exposure data and recommending mitigation strategies
Manage the facility’s environmental programs, including the collection and analysis of wastewater and solid waste samples
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and near-misses, utilizing engineering principles to prevent recurrence
Qualification
Required
Strong technical understanding of process safety and environmental management systems
Ability to obtain routine environmental wastewater and solid waste samples
Ability to perform IH sampling, safety evaluations of activities and HSE field audits
Excellent communication skills
Strong relationship skills
Independent worker
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Industrial, or Safety Engineering preferred)
0-3 years of experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing or chemical plant environment
