Engineer of Logistics - Fulfillment

WSI (Warehouse Specialists, LLC) is a company focused on optimizing fulfillment operations. The Logistics Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing solutions for new client launches, reviewing pricing models, and ensuring operational excellence through data-driven improvements and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Lead engineering design for implementations: facility layout, process flows, slotting, equipment/storage
Conduct time studies, capacity modeling, and throughput analysis
Create and manage engineering project plans from discovery through go-live
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless startups
Review pricing proposals and validate assumptions
Validate labor forecasts, equipment needs, and space utilization
Partner with Finance on cost-to-serve and margin analysis
Coordinate with IT/WMS teams on system capabilities, configurations, and reporting tools
Develop dashboards and P&L scorecards
Ensure data integrity across reporting platforms
Develop SOPs, work instructions, and process guides
Support creation of training materials and job aids
Ensure documentation is standardized and scalable
Identify opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce waste
Apply lean and Six Sigma tools
Lead or support Kaizen events and corrective action processes

Required

Knowledge of warehouse layout design, slotting, and process engineering
Experience with WMS/WCS systems and reporting
Proficiency in data tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
Expertise in warehouse design, engineering, layout optimization, and labor modeling
Strong knowledge of WMS, RF processes, and 3PL customer requirements
Demonstrated ability to improve KPIs, reduce costs, and scale operations
Proven project management capabilities
Strong communication and cross-functional skills

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field
3+ years in fulfillment, warehousing, or 3PL engineering
