Responsibilities
Coordinates activities of staff in the operating room
Provides oversight for front line staff in collaboration with O.R. leadership
Serves as liaison between surgeon, operating room staff, and management
Acts as resource for questions or issues related to procedures or surgeon preference
Coordinates day-to-day operational needs by setting priorities
Planning for and addressing staffing needs
Coordinating work across other teams as needed
Provides guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members
Provides input in employment decisions
Performance issues and performance reviews
May serve in various clinical nursing roles (i.e., direct care nurse, charge nurse, etc.)
Qualification
Required
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
Two to three (2-3) years of relevant acute care nursing experience required
Current licensure by the State of Michigan as a registered nurse required
Health care provider certification (BCLS) required
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing
Preferred
BSN Preferred
A member of AORN organization preferred
Actively participates in the O.R. Shared Governance Council or Committee
ACLS preferred
