Safety & Compliance Assistant, RBVH

They are seeking a detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Assistant to support the hospital’s safety culture by performing routine inspections, completing regulatory checklists, and maintaining required documentation to ensure compliance with OSHA and state regulations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the designated Safety & Compliance Assistant under the direction of the Learning & Development Manager and in collaboration with Ethos Occupational Safety
Perform routine walkthroughs, audits, and checklist-based safety inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA, state regulations, and internal safety standards
Use the Safety Culture App to track compliance items, document observations, and monitor completion of required safety tasks
Maintain OSHA-required documentation, SDS catalog updates, PPE checks, safety postings, and compliance records
Identify safety concerns during inspections and escalate issues promptly to the Learning & Development Manager
Support (but do not manage) regulated medical waste and hazardous waste processes, including ensuring containers, labels, and storage areas meet compliance expectations
Maintain awareness of hospital safety trends and communicate routine updates or issues to hospital leadership and Ethos contacts

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in veterinary, medical, or safety-related work is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
Clear documentation and communication skills
Comfort with digital tools and Microsoft Office
Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with digital tools used for learning and documentation
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment
Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!
