The University of Missouri-Columbia is seeking a Finance & Accounting Specialist for the Department of Medicine. This role supports a variety of financial and accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of departmental financial operations.

Responsibilities

Provide financial and accounting information, guidance, and support to clients and departmental staff

Understand how the finance team integrates with other units to meet departmental and School of Medicine objectives

Complete routine financial tasks and assigned responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail

Contribute to the quality, timeliness, and overall effectiveness of financial operations within the team

Communicate financial information clearly to team members, noting trends, anomalies, process improvements, or efficiencies to supervisors or appropriate stakeholders

Serve as a liaison within the department and with external partners to resolve routine financial or accounting matters

Complete and track reimbursements and invoice payments

Other payments/tracking (FedEx, Ricoh, Shred-It, etc.)

OneCard applications and reconciliations

Contract processing for simple contracts (speakers, etc.)

Purchasing transactions for department

Serve as department Time Keeper

Enter JED changes and payroll correcting entries

Create journal entries

Provide support and training for division level staff on payroll and reimbursements

Perform other duties as assigned to support the financial operations of the Department of Medicine

Required

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

At least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
