Responsibilities

Facilitates excellent customer service and proficiently processes various clerical functions for patients of the UF Health Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute

Obtains physician orders, upgrades patient accounts in EPIC, schedules new and return clinic appointments, schedules radiological procedures within UF Health Shands Hospital and effectively communicates with providers, staff, and patients

Posts charges in EPIC, collects from the patient for UF Health Physicians and Shands

Protects the fiscal interest of the enterprise by reviewing orders for completeness and entering orders and other information following established criteria

Competent in using and keeping up-to-date on compliance procedures with a working knowledge of the compliance checking system

Required

High school graduate or equivalent is required

Two years of financial or medical practice experience required

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills required

Incumbent must be comfortable collecting payments and counseling patients regarding financial matters in a professional manner

The ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, problem solve, and function in a team environment are necessary attributes of the successful incumbent

Preferred

Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 / ICD-10 coding
