Manufacturing Engineer (Lvl 1/Lvl 2/Senior)

The Manufacturing Engineer will support and optimize manufacturing processes, lead strategy and process improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day manufacturing of pressure sensors, switches, and assemblies
Assist with documentation of assembly procedures, calibration steps, and inspection protocols
Help troubleshoot basic production issues, focusing on wiring, sensor alignment, and leak testing
Collect and analyze simple manufacturing data (e.g., yields, rework rates)
Assist with implementation of lean improvements in work cells
Learn industry standards (AS9100, IPC-A-610, etc.) and support compliance
Maintain accurate documentation of processes, manufacturing procedures, material records, design concepts, tool/fixture drawings and shop orders in coordination with Engineering, Quality Assurance and R & D functions
Develop and optimize assembly and calibration processes for electro-mechanical pressure sensors
Analyze failure data and lead root cause investigations (e.g., electrical drift, seal leaks, calibration drift)
Implement process controls (PFMEAs, control plans, work instructions)
Support NPIs and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) efforts for custom transducer designs
Collaborate with quality engineering on nonconformance investigations and corrective actions
Evaluate tooling and test fixture needs and manage change control documentation
Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA, and NADCAP standards as applicable
Maintain accurate documentation of processes, manufacturing procedures, material records, design concepts, tool/fixture drawings and shop orders in coordination with Engineering, Quality Assurance and R & D functions
Lead new product introduction (NPI) for complex pressure sensing and switching devices, from prototype through production ramp
Develop robust, repeatable processes for soldering, calibration, testing, and potting
Responsible for creating Assembly and Manufacturing Travelers and Standard Work Instructions
Maintain accurate documentation of processes, manufacturing procedures, material records, design concepts, tool/fixture drawings and shop orders in coordination with Engineering, Quality Assurance and R & D functions
Design or oversee creation of custom tooling, test stands, and automated calibration fixtures
Drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and reliability enhancements
Collaborate with design, quality, and test engineering to ensure manufacturability and compliance
Lead internal audits, support external regulatory audits (FAA, customers), and maintain AS9100 documentation
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across manufacturing and test teams
Interface with suppliers to troubleshoot component issues (e.g., pressure elements, seals, PCBs)

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent, in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
Must be Continuous improvement focused
Team oriented and possesses flexibility and adaptability
Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instruction in English
Ability to work well with only a modest amount of instructions & directions
Ability to sit for prolonged periods in front of a computer as necessary
Due to need to maintain ITAR compliance, applicants must be U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
Lean / Six Sigma certification desired
Must be computer proficient
Exposure to electronics, precision assembly, or sensor technology is a plus
Familiar with pneumatics, pneumatic gages and production high pressure lines & pneumatic test boxes and manufacturing tools for assembly is a plus
Familiarity with CAD and basic data analysis (Excel, Minitab)
Detail-oriented, with a desire to learn aerospace manufacturing standards and processes
Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies, 6 S, Six Sigma tools, RCCA, PFMEA, DFM, and Kaizen events
Familiarity with SolidWorks or a similar high-end CAD software, and good working knowledge of GD&T as per ASME Y14.5 is a plus
Support company goals, objectives, policies, procedures, good manufacturing practices, and regulations
2–5 years of experience with electro-mechanical assembly, sensor calibration, or aerospace components
Familiarity with leak testing, signal conditioning, and pressure calibration equipment
Proficiency in root cause analysis and lean manufacturing tools
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and controlled documentation processes
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma tools, RCCA, PFMEA, DFM, and Kaizen events
Experienced in pneumatics, pneumatic gages and production high pressure lines & pneumatic test boxes and manufacturing tools for assembly
Experienced in installation and/or removal of production line equipment
Experienced in designing/Updating new production tools to replace old and obsolete ones in production
Experienced in 6S concept and able to train & implement the concept on the production stations and tool cabinets storages
5–10+ years in aerospace manufacturing of sensors, transducers, or similar precision electromechanical products
Expert knowledge of pressure calibration, leak testing, electronics assembly, and sensor physics
Strong understanding of aerospace regulatory requirements (AS9100, FAA PMA/TSO, IPC standards)
Proficiency with ERP systems, statistical tools (Minitab, JMP), and quality documentation systems
Proficiency with SolidWorks or a similar high-end CAD software, and good working knowledge of GD&T as per ASME Y14.5
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies, Six Sigma tools, RCCA, PFMEA, DFM, and Kaizen events
Experienced in training employees on methods, tooling, and procedures for product assembly or fabrication

Master's preferred for Senior role
Ability to speak Spanish will be a plus
