Donation Express Team Leader - Arlington Express Donation Center

Goodwill of Greater Washington is offering a retail leadership opportunity at their Arlington Express Donation Center. The Donation Express Team Leader will support operations, ensure a smooth donation process, and lead a team while providing excellent customer service.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Supports the Donation Express Manager in operations for brick-and-mortar and/or Mobile Donation Express sites
Communicates professionally via e-mail, orally, and in writing
Monitors and ensures a smooth donation process at a brick-and-mortar and/or Mobile Donation Express site
Fulfills the duties of all Donation Express staff (if needed) to include providing excellent customer service to donors, greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles, completing donor receipts, and sorting and processing donated items into designated categories
Assists in and ensures the enforcement of Donation Express safety and security procedures
Assists in settling complaints
Provides input for associate interviews and performance evaluations
Works weekends and holidays as required to support the needs of the business
Maintains a professional appearance adhering to Goodwill uniform standards
Assists with maintaining proper staffing as it relates to budgets
Assists the Donation Express Manager to accurately record the work of the department
Assists with monitoring the time and attendance system
Assists during the interviews, trains, and instructs workers in such a manner as to develop full working potential
Assists with the development of efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing
Performs other duties as directed and required

Required

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience and/or successful completion of the TRAc program
Excellent customer service skills
Basic computer skills
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to perform basic math
Ability to read and comprehend internal documents related to store operations
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift)
Ability to lift up to and between 40 - 50 pounds frequently
Valid driver's license and continuous access to reliable vehicle. Must pass the DOT certification
