Responsibilities

Maintain guest flow charts to track number of guests to each station and to track volume per hour
Ensure that the entrance to the outlet has someone there to greet guests at all times; ensuring that each guest is a Member or Guest with proper credentials to patronize the outlet, such as Membership card
Ensure cleanliness of the outlet at all times
Check on every table/chair setting to ensure that it is clean, spotless and fully set up, and that all silverware and glassware is spotless before any guests are seated
Check on guests to get feedback on the quality of their meals, service, etc., and share any problems that arise, immediately. Inform supervisor and manager, immediately, but try to take care of the problem at once
Schedule servers for breaks, etc. in conjunction with the supervisor and depending on the business volumes
Pitch in and help in service, whenever the need arises. Including food runner and expeditor tasks such to ensure the kitchen puts out the dishes according to the ticket specifications and relaying orders from wait staff to the kitchen
Have an excellent knowledge about the resort and surrounding communities and methods of transportation, etc., in order to converse with customers, give helpful suggestions, etc
Have an excellent knowledge about the wines and different items on the menu in order to be able to help guests, answer questions and offer suggestions
Be thorough about the knowledge about the hotel, services offered, operating hours of all food and beverage outlets, etc
Effectively check out all servers as they finish their shifts to make sure that all of the following are completed: All tables/chairs completely set-up, check salt and pepper, sugar, etc. All side work assigned is completed. All floors are clean and neatly swept. All check issues are recounted and closed at the register or returned
Check all associates for proper name tags, shoes, clean and proper uniforms, appearance
Communicate all necessary information to incoming host/hostess and supervisor and write down all messages in the host/hostess communication log
Conduct menu class and taste panels in conjunction with the supervisor/manager and the kitchen
Report to work in proper uniform and in accordance with the grooming standards required of all Horseshoe Bay Resort associates
Follow all departmental rules and regulations, such as calls for coming in, red sticker policy, requesting time off, etc
Comply with Horseshoe Bay Resort "clean as you go" policy
Before leaving your work area, always check with your supervisor
Follow host/hostess opening and closing checklist thoroughly

Required

Minimum age requirement – 16+
Food Handler's Certificate
TABC Certificate & Tips Trained required if 18+ (to serve alcohol)
Encourage OSHA Hazard Communication Standard training and certification
Previous experience in food service environment; host/hostess experience preferred
Requires problem solving abilities
Pleasant demeanor with teamwork attitude; ability to work well with others
Requires excellent oral and written communications skills
Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English; other languages valuable
Ability to listen and follow directions
Impeccable standards of appearance and grooming
Maintains proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel
Good physical health and ability to perform work quickly
Self-starter and strong initiative to serve guests
Ability to work well under pressure
Honest and dependable
Can meet the needs of guest's satisfaction within company guidelines
Must have the physical strength, stamina and agility to perform the assigned duties
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures
Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to manager
Requires problem solving abilities
