UMS / Autonomous Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Mayvin, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced UMS / Autonomous Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical, programmatic, and acquisition support to their customer. The role involves advising senior leaders, managing requirements, and coordinating system acquisitions for Airborne ISR, UAS, UGV, and autonomous robotic capabilities across the USSOCOM enterprise.

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level support to the Combat Development Directorate (CDD) for all matters involving Airborne ISR, UAS, UGV, robotics, and autonomy technology
Develop, refine, and manage acquisition documentation including SORs, MOAs, AWR packages, CONEMPs, technical evaluations, and procurement artifacts
Support materiel solution analysis, cost/schedule assessments, budgeting inputs, and program lifecycle planning for current and future unmanned/autonomous capabilities
Conduct detailed assessments of capability gaps and provide programmatic recommendations impacting USSOCOM modernization portfolios
Lead or support requirements development in accordance with JCIDS and SOFCIDS processes for UAS, UGV, autonomous robotics, sensors, payloads, and ISR platforms
Identify, assess, and document capability shortfalls in A-ISR, UMS, robotics/autonomy, and related mission areas
Support development of Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), Key System Attributes (KSAs), and objective/threshold requirements for new systems
Serve as technical lead for the integration and employment of Group I/II UAS, autonomous robotics, UGV platforms, and support sensor/payload suites
Coordinate with USASOC, MARSOC, AFSOC, ARSOAC, NAVAIR, Army PM shops, and other SOF/Service entities to ensure proper system alignment with higher-level initiatives
Plan, coordinate, and oversee flight tests, UGV field evaluations, demonstrations, and integration events related to unmanned and autonomous capabilities
Conduct detailed technical market research to identify emerging commercial and military unmanned/autonomous technologies, including:
+ UAS, UGV, UMS
+ AI/ML-enabled autonomy and perception systems
+ Robotics sensors, edge processors, and autonomy stacks
+ ATAK plugins and C2 ecosystem tools
Develop technical assessments, vendor comparison reports, and acquisition recommendations supporting procurement decisions
Support SOF operations through analysis of A-ISR and unmanned system employment in the F3EA cycle
Evaluate program performance in terms of mission accomplishment, system readiness, compliance, and technical proficiency
Advise leadership on both classified and unclassified ISR/UMS modernization roadmaps, operational impacts, and platform employment strategies
Prepare documentation supporting Army Airworthiness Release (AWR) for non-standard aircraft and payload integrations
Ensure system employment, test events, and acquisitions comply with:
+ USSOCOM 350-9
+ AR 95-1, AR 95-20
+ AR 385-10, DA PAM 385-40
+ Applicable FAA and DoD policy
