Student Worker - Multimedia Intern

Texas Oral History Association is seeking a Multimedia Intern to assist with marketing and communications within the Multicultural Affairs department. The role involves creating and distributing marketing materials, managing social media accounts, and collaborating with various teams to enhance departmental visibility and engagement.

Responsibilities

Hold weekly meetings with all Multicultural Affairs coalition and education and training interns
Share updates on multimedia projects, social media analytics, creative content ideas, and upcoming promotional opportunities
Collaborate with interns to ensure cohesive branding and promotion across all coalition and education and training accounts
Assist in the planning, creation, and distribution of all marketing materials, including but not limited to:
Event promotions (flyers, posters, digital graphics)
Photography and videography of events
Recap videos, highlight reels, and testimonial clips
Presentation slides, video board materials, and digital signage
Maintain consistent branding and visual identity across all materials in alignment with Multicultural Affairs and Baylor University guidelines
Support coalition organizations and education and training initiatives in developing promotional materials and visual content for their respective events
Collaborate with the professional staff member overseeing social media to manage and grow Multicultural Affairs’ social media accounts (currently Instagram and Facebook, with future expansion as needed)
Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and reels highlighting departmental programs, coalition events, and university initiatives
Partner with coalition interns to oversee coalition-related social media accounts and ensure alignment with departmental messaging
Assist with Cub Talk social media content in collaboration with the Education and Training team
Track analytics to evaluate engagement and recommend strategies for increasing reach and impact
Maintain open and consistent communication with Multicultural Affairs staff, interns, and campus partners
Share creative ideas that enhance storytelling, student engagement, and departmental visibility
Respond to communications promptly (within 24–48 hours) and participate actively in planning and feedback sessions
Represent Multicultural Affairs with professionalism, creativity, and inclusivity
Approach projects with a solutions-oriented mindset and seek feedback for growth
Respect deadlines, meeting times, and office policies while promoting a positive team culture
Engage in regular one-on-one meetings with the Multimedia Supervisor (or assigned staff lead)
Welcome feedback and coaching to develop professional skills in digital storytelling, marketing strategy, and cross-cultural communication
Take initiative to learn new tools, trends, and technologies relevant to multimedia and social media management
Provide marketing and communications support to assigned area of responsibility
Assist with various projects, activities or tasks related to marketing and communications
Support marketing and communications strategies and perform duties accordingly
Exhibit a willingness to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance

Required

Work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, spread across at least three separate days
Hours must be logged consistently; any conflicts should be communicated to a supervisor
