The Credit and Collections Assistant will support the credit department by managing credit transactions, processing applications, and providing customer credit information.

Responsibilities

Keeps record of credit transactions, deposits, and payments. Collects past-due funds and accepts payment on accounts
Performs account reconciliation by adjusting incorrect credit charges and grants extensions of credit on overdue accounts, per predetermined guidelines. Makes necessary adjustments to system to reflect receivables decisions
Processes credit applications for potential new customer accounts. Keeps record of applications for credit. Notifies customer of acceptance or rejection of credit applications
Contacts credit bureaus, employers, and personal references to check credit and personal references
Assists in establishing credit limit, considering such factors as applicant's assets, credit experience, and personal references, based on predetermined standards
Provides customer credit information or rating on request to businesses, credit agencies, or banks

Required

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
