Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering projects from concept to completion including project scope and deliverables

Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets

Track and control project spending and provide accurate forecasts

Identify staffing needs and coordinate with department managers

Oversee design, documentation, and bid package preparation

Assign tasks to team members to oversee project personnel and manage technical work

Review designs for compliance with standards and customer requirements

Coordinate technical activities across departments to resolve engineering design and testing challenges

Approve design changes and technical documentation

Prepare and present project status and final reports

Provide updates to project team, leadership, and stakeholders

Required

5–8 years of related experience, ideally in the food industry

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering

Willingness to work onsite in Lithonia, GA and travel up to 10% to other plants/vendor sites

Have a proven track record of successfully managing complex capital projects in a manufacturing or food industry setting

Excel at problem-solving, decision-making, and balancing multiple priorities

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders

Bring innovative thinking to equipment, processes, and project execution

Preferred

Experience dealing with but not limited to: Air handling, dust control, raw material and final product handling, warehousing and storage racks, electrical power and controls, flooring, conveyors, fire protection, bar coding/labeling, utilities, packaging equipment, structural issues, lighting, HVAC, mixing equipment, metal detection, check weighing, plant renovations, etc

Experience managing projects ranging from $10,000 to $1 million in scope

Experience working with a plant budget for $40,000 to 1.8 million in scope

Strong background in contractor management and technical integration

Familiarity with PLC systems and automation in manufacturing environments
