Point Designs: Silicone Technician

The Silicone Technician will be responsible for fabricating and repairing prosthetic devices, ensuring maximum fit and function while keeping up with new techniques and materials in the field.

Responsibilities
Perform fabrication and repair of prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards
Employ existing processes to move a project through the fabrication workflow
Fabricate diagnostic and definitive rolled silicone sockets custom to each project
Create, modify, and duplicate plaster models
Exhibit basic knowledge of and skill with 3D printing, 3D scanning, and computer modeling techniques (CAD)
Perform assembly of the final prosthesis
Collaborate with team members on project design and troubleshooting
Operate various equipment, machinery, and tools to construct devices
Document work and maintain logs
Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment
Adhere to all safety regulations; compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
Work under close supervision
Follow company policies and procedures
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Less than 1 year of related experience
Knowledge and hand skills needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to patient measurements, casts and in compliance with a physician's prescription
Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively
Effective organizational, time management and planning skills
Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others
Ability to work effectively as a team member
Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships
