Senior Manager, Business Affairs (FX)
The Walt Disney Company is seeking a Senior Manager-level attorney for the FX Business Affairs team to support the development and production of FX programming. The role involves negotiating and drafting various above-the-line contracts and managing projects in development and production.

Responsibilities
Negotiate and draft above-the-line deals for writers, directors, producers, actor test options, and underlying rights
Manage several projects in development and production by partnering with department executives regarding budgets, clearances, calendars, and approvals
Draft guild deal memos (DGA & WGA) and Notices of Tentative Writing Credits
Negotiate, draft, and manage Clip Licenses
Prepare legal documents and redlines, including certificates of authorship, certificates of engagement and separation of rights agreements; Respond to comments from third parties
Analyze contracts in response to business questions and provide necessary contractual/research information to FX executives
Maintain and administer show summary charts, list of deals, forms and actor agreements
Qualification
Required
JD degree and active member of CA bar
Minimum 2 years experience required at a studio, agency, production company or entertainment law firm
Familiarity with the structure of television and intellectual property deals
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to maintain discretion and professionalism with senior leaders
Must have strong reasoning skills and be solutions-oriented
Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel and AirTable
Must be detail-oriented with the ability to independently prioritize work and handle a high volume of tasks with set deadlines
Must have excellent organizational and tracking skills
Must be client-service oriented
Preferred
Experience in a business & legal affairs department preferred
