Responsibilities
Architect, build, and optimize workflows to power various Microsoft M365 Copilot experiences and other next-generation Agent scenarios
Partners with Science, PM and Design counterparts to understand product requirements and latest trends in industry to drive architectural changes as required to improve scale, reliability and agility of the Product
Drive identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for the platform
Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guide other engineers by developing and following the playbook, and uphold high operational excellence
Proactively seek new knowledge and adapts to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of the platform while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale
Define success metrics and enhance success metrics based on platform / product evolution
Embody Microsoft’s Culture and Values and help shape the direction of the engineering team and broader organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
4+ years of experience in distributed service architectures, with practical experience in API Design and managing applications on major cloud platforms
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 7+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience
Experience with platforms that leverage language models
Experience with agile development methodologies and a passion for continuous improvement
Experience leading the design of software solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Experience building debuggability into complex software systems
